Horrorcope 101: Turmeric

My skin was feeling glum… My pores were huuuuuuuge and I needed a quick fix.

I started considering beauty from years ago and how they didn’t have all of the brands that we have now and then I also started thinking with all these chemicals that are contained in all the products we purchase surely nature around us can provide us with a better solution?

So I turned to turmeric. My father has advised me in the past of its man health benefits but as one does I never jumped at joy of using something so orange to drink.

But I gave in to this little miracle worker.

Here’s a quick rundown:

– it’s and anti-inflammatory used to treat various symptoms and can be used for medicinal purposes and even the treatment of depression (consult doctor before using).

– it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial properties are amazing for our skin. You will gradually see an improvement to you skin tone and conditi on but word of warning it does slightly stain your skin so it may best used before you shower or before you sleep. Please seek advice from you Dr and do a path test as not all products are suitable for everyone.

How to use:

Depending on the areas that you will be using this on you can vary quantity accordingly. The consistency you will be looking for is nothing too thick but nothing too runny. You will want it to easily spread. It is too runny just add a bit more turmeric and if it is too thick just add more of the liquid.

1- Turmeric and Rose Water (anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant)

Add one spoon of turmeric and one spoon of rose water

2- Turmeric and Honey (anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant)

Add one spoon of turmeric and one spoon of honey

3- Turmeric and Lemon Juice (natural bleaching properties)

Add one spoon of turmeric and some lemon juice according to consistency

Apply to face using a facebrush- stand over a sink or put your hand under where you will be applying it as it stains!!

Wait until dry and wash off!

If a stain remains you can use a gentle exfoliant!
